Tuesday, March 11, 2014Press Release

Today, Democracy for America, a national progressive political action organization founded by Gov. Howard Dean, has endorsed Shenna Bellows in her campaign to represent Maine in the U.S. Senate.

Quote from Democracy for America (DFA) Executive Director Charles Chamberlain:

"Shenna Bellows' long record of standing up and fighting for the rights of Mainers makes her the perfect progressive champion to take on and expose Susan Collins' Tea Party voting record.  Mainers don't support Ted Cruz or Rand Paul and, with the help of Democracy for America members in Maine and across the country, Shenna Bellows will ensure that they no longer have Senator Collins' rubber stamp on their Tea Party agenda in the U.S. Senate."  -- Charles Chamberlain, Executive Director, Democracy for America

Quote from Shenna Bellows:

"Democracy for America is an organizing powerhouse, and I am honored to receive their endorsement. The only way that we have ever achieved lasting positive social change is through grassroots action around shared values.  That's what we're building together on this campaign."  -- Shenna Bellows, Maine U.S. Senate candidate
